Why do we seek fame

   When meaning is found in the service few know we are doing

Why do we seek approval

   When it is already ours from God

Why do we seek self hatred

   When self love is all that exists

Why do we fret about the insignificant

   When significance is found in not paying attention to the small stuff

Why do we seek peace through violent actions

   When true peace is found in laying our lives down for others

Why do we seek busyness

   When inner harmony is found in slowing down

Why do we seek riches

   When we are already rich in the way that matters most – Love

Why do we seek answers

   When life is found in the questions

Why do we seek the end of fear

   When God is found in the sharing of our fear

The answer is found in being human

   Where we seek a truth that does not exist

Once we discover this we are free

   To simply be

      No longer seeking what we have and will always have

         A Divine Image based in God

What is my passion

   What tickles my toes when I think of it

      What can I hardly wait to do

What do I love to think about when I am alone

   Or even with people

What is my favorite feeling

   What does it create inside me

What kind of persons do I love to be around

   The ones who believe in me more than I do

How much time do I spend with my passion 

   If life is limited how am I living it

What if God’s first words to us after death were

   Did you enjoy it

      What would I say

Passion is

   Enthusiasm

   Excitement

   Essence

   Effortlessness

   Ecstasy

The Explanation marks in life

   Indicate Passion for life

      When we simply accept every moment as it is

         No matter what is happening

Creativity

   Where does it come from

   How does it appear

   Who is in charge of it

   Is everyone creative

What if no one places us in mental prison but us

   Or spiritual prison

   Or a life sentence of sadness

If that were true there wouldn’t be any blame

   For our parents trapped in their own jails of limitation

   For our teachers trapped in thoughts of what good education has to be

   For our spiritual leaders trapped in defending god

   For our spouses trapped in unfulfilled dreams

   For us trapped in other’s definition of who we are

What would life be without blame

   Creative

   Free to be made in the Great Being’s Image

   Surprised by who we are

What if our prison doors are unlocked

   What if we are free to walk

   What if we are free to feel

   What if we are free to think

Could this be where creativity begins

   Would we dare to open the door of our prison if this were true

   To walk by our jailers supposed limitations for us

      Sentences not meant to be carried out in our lives

         All because the only judgments in life are our own

   Now we are free to embrace what is left

      Creativity

Lighten up

   I hear my spirit speaking

Oh no not another diet

   Not even close

   This is not about the outer

   This is about the inner

Alright so are we talking about getting rid of something

   No we are talking about accepting everything

   Shining an inner light on the darkened parts of you

I am not sure this will work

   You may not like what you see in me

      I will be cast back into the inner darkness

Never happen

   For I created the darkness

      So why would anything be unacceptable

I always felt like You had set me up for failure

   Never being good enough

   Never doing it quite right

   Never being perfect as You are Perfect

Let me throw that away for you

   Into the fiery pit

Aha I knew it

   There had to be a hell

No you have it wrong

   No hell just a purifying fire

   Where everything is turned into Love

Without a hell there is no fear

   Right you are

      Now you have been lightened up

I sit in a boat that has sprung a leak

   I pray to God

      Please save me and fix this problem

I wait

   Nothing happens except the water rises

I pray once more for help

   Still nothing happens except the water rises

I cry out to God

   How long Oh Lord

      Still nothing but now the water covers the boat

I can continue to pray

   Or I can swim to shore

      Wisely I swim to shore as I pray for strength with every stroke

I am able to swim faster than ever before

   As I sit on the beach I ask God

      Why didn’t you answer my prayer

God replied I did

   But the boat sank I said

God replied it is too easy to save boats

   A little magic and poof

But it is harder to swim to shore together God added

   Why I asked

      Because I needed your help God replied

So the boats of life will continue to sink I said

   Yes the challenges of life happen to everyone God replied

      But they don’t matter as much as us working together

   I don’t cause the problems of life God said

      Although I created their possibility

Why I asked

   No answer just mystery God said

      But if you walk with Me through them

Swim to the shore together I said

   Yes and God smiled mysteriously

      Now you can see how we are always One

It is nice sitting on the shore with You God

   I agree God said

      We sat in silence for a long time

Judgment

   What is your first thought

   What is your first feeling

There are all kinds of judgments

   The one at the end of a trial

   The one related to what one needs to do

   The one about how another acts or looks

   The one we use on ourself

      What is your first thought about these judgments

      What is your first feeling

Now the biggy

   God’s Judgment of us

      What is your first thought

      What is your first feeling

How about this thought

   God does not judge us

      Now or at our time of death

If we dare to believe this then

   Judge not less you be judged makes sense

      For the only one sitting in judgment is us

So why do we judge

   Because rationally it seems logical

So what

   From God’s spiritual perspective life isn’t logical

So we are free

   Free at last

      Time to live full of grace

Did you ever think of praying as Magical Thinking

   I didn’t until someone described it for me

Magical Thinking praying is when we ask for a particular result

   God please heal Aunt Maude

   God please get Bill and Jane back together

   God please let this illness pass from me

It is Magical Thinking because we don’t let life be

   What it is

   How it is

   When it is

Spiritual Thinking is when we ask God

   Let Your Will be done

We don’t put our conditions on God

   We no longer define life by our attachments

   We no longer try to avoid life on its terms

Can we trust our prayers to be spiritual

   Can we see God’s Ways as not being our way

   Can we believe this life isn’t all there is

   Can we allow God to turn our world upside down

      Leaving nothing but messiness and mystery

It is our choice

   But in God’s Reality there is only one choice

      To trust God loves us more than we can imagine 

Once we were a child in our journey

   Magical Thinking made sense

Now we have been invited to give up our childish ways

   Spiritual Thinking makes sense

Can we let life be what it is

Ever been depressed

   Not clinically but really sad

Ever wonder why this is the case

   Maybe it is because of not listening to your spirit

The word depressed means

   Pressed down

      Specifically the leadings of our spirit

What could be pressed down for us

   A relationship of love not present

      Because of our present one

         The one not filling our spirit with joy

   An illness

      It has caused our spirit to be sick

         Because we have made it our fault

            Or we aren’t healed because we lack faith

   A missed moment

      One filled with the wonder of life

         Because we were thinking of the  past or future

            Moments long gone or never to come

Our life can be depressing

   When we listen to the wrong messages

      Either from inside of us

         The ones not centered in God’s Love

      Or from the experts outside of us

         The ones not centered in God’s Love

Our life can be filled with great joy

   When we leave or change relationships not based in God

   When we realize illness is often not our fault

   When we let go of control so this moment can be this moment  

How uplifting life is

   When we let it be what it is

Did you know you are unique

   There is only one of you

   You can not be duplicated

What does that say to you

   Does it make you feel special

   Does it increase your value

      In your eyes

      The only eyes that really matter

      Because no one knows you the way you do

No one can tell you what to think or feel

   No one knows what is right for you

   So be careful if anyone does tell you who you are

      They may be guessing and they may be wrong

Life is an adventure

   It is meant to be enjoyed

   Who knows what mountain you will climb

   Who knows what job you will have

   Who knows

   Who knows

   Who knows

So be who you are

   Believe you can do anything

      For anything is possible

      For someone as special as you

Did you know you are an author

   Now you are a published one

   Because you have a published quilted book about you

You are letting everyone who reads it know who you are

   Maybe you are talking about what you like

     To do

     To read

     Or maybe to reveal your dreams

     Or who your friends are and why
